My dark ambient and experimental compositions are published under my own name (BMI), to keep them distinct from the diatonic work I release as The Ghost Mariners.
I studied electronic music at the University of Tennessee, where I got my first real studio experience beyond cassette-based Tascam 4-track machines. Those early compositional assignments were my introduction to composers like Xenakis, Stockhausen, and Subotnick.
A new album is in progress. Dark ambient is one of the most work-intensive styles I attempt, given all the original sound design and the feeling that nothing is ever really finished.
