DRONEFACE™ is a private Creativity Lab and an ongoing exercise in building a brand. It’s chimeric parts industrial and graphic design encased within a fine arts hive, with the goal of refining ideas until they cannot help but break into reality in a useful way.

A passion project and a work in progress, Watchtowers of the Immortal Chorus is a swashbuckling sword & sorcery tale with dollops of portal fantasy, horror, and planetary romance. Somehow, there’s a bit of Wuxia (武侠) blended in there, too.
At its heart, this novel is an adventure tale filled with magic, danger, and allies trying to defeat oppression and save their world from a supernatural invasion.
This project is centered around lightweight sample sets for iOS DAWs, and it was my second foray into creating a brand—the first was my texture collection.
Sample Squad products are still available, but there will be new content later this year. Everything will remain at a reasonable price point.
During the quarantine isolation of the year 2020, a strong motivation to compose a synth-based album of melodic tunes surfaced within me. Azimuth of Arcturus is the result.
As for style, this album is a blend of synthwave, darkwave, and progressive elements of rock and pop. Most of these pieces use tried-and-true arrangements with a proper bridge—something I'm always striving for in my instrumentals.
For my dark ambient and experimental musical compositions, I publish as Shane Sanders (BMI) to keep it differentiated from my diatonic work as The Ghost Mariners.
I studied electronic music at the University of Tennessee, and gained my first real studio experience beyond cassette-based Tascam 4-track machines there. Those early compositional assignments were my introduction to composers like Xenakis, Stockhausen, and Subotnick.
I have a new album in progress, but dark ambient is one of the most work-intensive styles that I attempt due to all the original sound design and the feeling that nothing is ever really finished. The struggle is real.
During a period of utter enthrallment with doom metal, I composed these demo tunes. It’s a blend of doom metal, dark ambient, and world music.

From bow to stern, the Valkyrie’s specifications are an anthem to supercharged performance potential for the professional and passionate aspirant alike. This remains one of my favorite projects because it yielded some fine guitars that have helped me mitigate back pain.
Mastered and co-produced by Justin Sullivan, these two compilation albums present a wide array of interpretations of dark ambient music. There are numerous contributors.
The website is old school and highly deprecated, but minimalistic enough to still be viable. Obviously, nobody in their right mind has Macromedia Flash installed, but most of the links remain to the music via a free Box account—I’ll get it re-wired and redesigned soon.
